High Speed Internet Support Provided by Poundbury Systems

Poundbury Systems is supporting the Superfast Business project with consultancy, workshops and seminars

PSL have been asked to support the Superfast Business project. The support includes one to one consultancy, workshops and seminars on Cloud Computing. The project is designed to dovetail with the work of Superfast Dorset, bringing high speed internet to nearly all parts of Dorset including rural areas. Clare Jenkins, Managing Director of PSL said “The project has been a great success, we have been able to help a wide variety of companies across many different sectors. The Cloud can be a confusing concept for business initially. It is our job to simplify it and tailor the solutions and options to the specific needs of the end user.”

Superfast Business offers  fully-funded support services to help businesses in the rural South-West identify, maximise and profit from the opportunities that superfast broadband and new technologies present. The service includes a team of expert advisers, a programme of workshop events offering inspirational insights and practical solutions to ICT specialists and knowledge. The Superfast Business targets to 2016 are:

 

•95.6% of premises with access to superfast broadband (at least 24Mbps)

•97% of premises with access to the fibre network (this will offer a range of speeds above 2Mbps)

•100% of premises with access to at least 2Mbps

 

 

The roll-out in Dorset is scheduled to take place from now to 2016 with areas such as Weymouth, Bridport and Verwood having confirmed timing of July 2014
